Bandits Almost Robs Panthers

Langley Bandits almost came out with a come from behind last second victory against the Cloverdale Panthers. But eventually lost 8-6.

Cloverdale opened the scoring with a nice 30 yd td run to put them up 4-0 with the convert. Langley marched right back down the field with a 40 yd TD run by Jack Laurin on a Quarterback reverse. He had excellent blocking by U'Shaun Campbell and Nico Gerussi. The failed convert by Dayton Boutilier had the Bandits down 4-3. The next 2 Cloverdale possessions, the Bandits where able to make some big stops’ including 2 big back-to-back flags on second and third down by Dylan Gemakas and U'Shaun Campbell. Both teams went into halftime with the score Cloverdale 4 Langley Bandits 3.

Second half saw another touchdown by Cloverdale with a converted kick to put them up 8-3. Three nice runs by Jack Laurin, U'Shaun Campbell and Nico Gerussi took the Bandits to Cloverdale's 11 yard line. That set up a big 11 yard TD run by Ben Charbonneau, making the score 8-6. The Bandits got the ball back after a big flag by Kian Gilroy in the Cloverdale backfield with 1:45 remaining. Jack Laurin had a big QB sneak run for 20 yd to march the Bandits down to the 15 yd line. On the last play of the game Bandits fumbled the ball as time expired.

It was a hard and tough game for the undersized Bandits. They came out of the game with some bumps and bruises but played their hearts out and almost got a victory.
