SPRING FLAG LEAGUE 2010

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s and are just chomping at the bit to get back to the gridiron! I know the regular season is still a ways off, but there is good news…there is Spring Flag football just around the corner!!!

As it stands right now, we are looking to gather as many kids (BOYS AND GIRLS) as possible between the ages of 11 and 17 to make up our Spring Teams.

Teams consist of 6 players each, playing non-contact flag football 5-A-Side. The age groups are:

U13 – This is 11 and 12 year olds (10 year olds welcome)

U15 – This is 13 and 14 year olds, and

U18 – This is 15, 16 and 17 year olds. (They added a year from last year)

**Note: You must not be above that age as of Dec. 31st this year.

The cost of this league is $100.00 and you will get the following:

1 practice a week minimum (depends on the coach’s discretion)

5 weekends of jamboree games (dates and locations below)

And a buy into the Provincial Championship play offs in Kelowna on the weekend of June 12th and 13th.

Each team will be a designated NFL team…last year we had the Cowboys and Patriots…you never know what it may be this year…? You get to keep this jersey, and we will put your name on the back for you!

Game Schedule: See more details at this link.

One of the most important things to think about when deciding if this is something you are interested in, is that we pay up front for our teams to make the Provincials…if we do not have enough players make the trip to Kelowna, then we are paying to forfeit and that will leave some kids without the opportunity to participate. Please check your calendars to ensure you are free this weekend. Regular season play does not count towards Provincials, it is practice for the finals.

Last year was a great time, it was sooo much fun! I hope more of you get out to this league this season…it really was a blast! It’s such a great tool for coaches to work on skill positions as well…there is no blocking or tackling like regular football, it’s all pass, run, catch and have a great time!!!

See you soon!
Cory
