Wednesday February 24th
McLeod Stadium 2nd floor meeting room.
- Proposed policy changes
- Proposed restructure changes
Welcome to the 2010 season!
Last year was the associations 40th year of operation and was the most successful season in those 40 years. Many of you may not be aware, every one of our 7 competitive teams made the playoffs & if you were to take the records of our flag teams they to would have made the playoffs. (There are no playoffs in flag as it is considered not competitive). Our cheerleading squads performed outstanding all season long, with a great showing at almost all home games and away games as well. With the largest senior squad to date, we are looking forward to another successful season for our young ladies as well. This year our peewee team placed third in their year end competition.
Our success on and off the field is a credit to our membership, the commitments being made, our coaching staffs who put in countless hours of practice planning and implementation of the associations progression’s, game & competition planning, film review and so on and so on it goes.
This past year the association has grown again, we anticipate more growth this year as well. As we grow the needs of the association change. More people are needed to make the program operate. This became very apparent in the 2009 season which leads us to the 2010 AGM and the changes that are needed to make us bigger, better and stronger.
I have attached a proposed plan for the required changes to the operations side of the board. There would be changes in the Directorship as board members would be elected into specific positions & responsible for those job requirements. The Director(s) would be responsible to find the volunteers required to assist them in the implementation and completion of their roles. The Executive positions change as well. President and the 2 VP’s would now have specific functions in their “job descriptions”
These policy changes will be on the agenda for adoption at the AGM, please read the proposed changes. We also ask that you consider very carefully if you see a position you would be interested in the time requirements and the commitment required to run this position.
Updates on the Tower Project will also be discussed at this years AGM, along with any other questions you may have.
Please mark the date on your calendar and make a point of attending this year.
All the best for the 2010 season,
Wayne McMurchy

15.01.09 - LMF wishes to announce a joint venture with The NFL Canada.
NFL/CFL Community Flag Football is a co-ed, recreational program sponsored by NFL Canada. The emphasis of the league is on Participation, Teamwork, Sportsmanship, and Fun.
This League is a non contact game for ages 11-14. The season does not interfere with our regular football season. Games are played on Saturdays.
Provincial, National & World Finals are all expense paid trips for the kids who’s teams are fortunate to make it that far. Last year a Coquitlam team made it all the way to the Nationals. An information package will be put together for those interested.
Please email Cory at registrar@langleyfootball.ca so we can start to get an idea of the interest level. LMF wishes to have a strong showing in this new league & have multiple teams heading off to National & World Championships.
25.01.07 - Children's Fitness Tax Credit
The Government of Canada proposes to allow, starting in 2007, a non-refundable tax credit on eligible amounts of up to $500 paid by parents to register a child in an eligible program of physical activity.
The following is information about the proposed tax credit both for parents and for the organizations that provide eligible programs of physical activity. This information is based on legislation that has been tabled in the House of Commons but that has not yet become law.
While the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will administer the credit, organizations are in the best position to determine eligibility. The CRA will work with organizations in the coming months to assist them in determining whether a particular program qualifies.
